MTCTCE (MikroTik Certified Traffic Control Engineer)


Prerequisites:

·     Participants must have an MTCNA certificate to enroll in the MTCTCE course.


Course Description:

The MTCTCE course delves into advanced RouterOS traffic control mechanisms, including comprehensive coverage of firewall filtering, NAT, mangle, and quality of service (QoS). It includes a mixture of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises on RouterBOARD to ensure a deep understanding of how to implement traffic control effectively.


Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, students will understand how to:

·     Utilize the packet flow diagram for traffic control.

·     Implement firewall filtering, NAT, and mangle in various scenarios.

·     Manage quality of service effectively using RouterOS tools.

·     Configure DNS client cache and DHCP client, relay, and server settings.

·     Set up basic web proxy functionalities.

This course is tailored for network engineers and technicians who aim to enhance their skills in managing and controlling traffic flow within a network using MikroTik RouterOS.


Course Outline:

1.   Packet Flow Diagram: Understanding how packets move through the RouterOS environment.


2.   Firewall Filter/NAT/Mangle: Deep dive into connection tracking, filter rules, NAT, and mangle configurations.


3.   Quality of Service: Implementing HTB (Hierarchical Token Bucket), queue types, and managing simple queues and queue tree interactions.


4.   DNS Client Cache: Configuring basic settings and static DNS entries.


5.   DHCP Client, Relay, Server: Analyzing DHCP communication, configuring DHCP client, server, and relay.


6.   Web Proxy: Setting up basic proxy functionalities, rule lists, and access lists.

 2 Days (12 Hours total)(6 hours per day including breaks)
