Prerequisites:
Participants should have a good understanding of TCP/IP and subnetting before attending.
Course Description:
The MTCNA course covers RouterOS software and RouterBOARD products in-depth, focusing on connecting to the Internet, basic firewall configurations, network management, basic troubleshooting, and providing services.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be familiar with RouterOS software and RouterBOARD products, able to connect a client to the Internet, configure and manage MikroTik routers, and perform basic troubleshooting.
Ideal For:
This course is aimed at network engineers and technicians who are involved in deploying and supporting corporate networks or client CPEs for ISPs and WISPs.
Course Outline:
· Module 1: Introduction to MikroTik, RouterOS, and RouterBOARD; first-time access; using WinBox, WebFig, and Quick Set; CLI basics; initial configuration for Internet access; upgrading RouterOS; managing backups and licenses.
· Module 2: DHCP server and client setup, leases management, ARP.
· Module 3: Bridging concepts, creating bridges, and bridging wireless networks.
· Module 4: Routing overview, static routing, dynamic routes management.
· Module 5: Wireless 802.11 concepts, setup, security, and encryption.
· Module 6: Firewall principles, connection tracking, firewall filter actions, NAT, masquerade.
· Module 7: QoS, Simple Queue, PCQ, bursting.
· Module 8: Tunnels, PPP settings, profiles, secrets, status, IP pool, PPPoE, PPTP, SSTP client.
· Module 9: RouterOS tools like e-mail, Netwatch, Ping, Traceroute, Torch, SNMP, The Dude; contacting support.
