DCID (Cisco Designing Data Center Infrastructure)

 

Prerequisites:

To enroll in the DCID course, participants should have the ability to:

·     Implement data center networking (LAN and SAN)

·     Understand data center storage

·     Implement data center virtualization

·     Implement Cisco UCS

·     Implement data center automation and orchestration, focusing on Cisco ACI and Cisco UCS Director

·     Be familiar with Cisco Data Center Nexus and MDS families


Course Description:

This course offers in-depth training on designing Cisco data center solutions and technologies, covering network designs, virtualization technologies, storage area networks, automation, and security. Learners will get design practices for Cisco UCS solutions and gain experience with network management technologies including Cisco UCS Manager, Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM), and Cisco UCS Director.


Learning Outcomes:

After completing the DCID course, learners will be able to:

·     Describe Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding options and protocols used in data centers

·     Design solutions using Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) for traffic forwarding

·     Understand hardware redundancy options, virtualization of network, compute, and storage functions

·     Describe security threats, solutions, and advanced data center security technologies and best practices

·     Explain device management and orchestration in data centers, among other skills.

IT professionals with 5 to 8 years of experience in roles such as data center engineers, network designers/administrators/engineers, systems engineers, consulting systems engineers, technical solutions architects, server administrators, network managers, and Cisco integrators or partners


Course Outline:

The course covers a wide range of topics from basic to advanced data center design considerations, including high availability on Layer 2, Layer 3 connectivity, data center topologies, interconnects with Cisco OTV, VXLAN Overlay Networks, and hardware and device virtualization. It also dives into Cisco FEX options, data center security, management, orchestration, storage and RAID options, Fibre Channel concepts, topologies, and FCoE, among others

   5 Days (30 Hours total)(6 hours per day including breaks)
